Trace reporting from Seattle

Hey, everyone! Happy new year! My only new year's resolution is to post to this thing. Done! :)

I'll post more soon. It's 3am just now and time to get to sleep...

All the best for 2007,
Trace

  • Tam reporting from Belhlvie.....

I'll post more later but it's nearly noon and time to get (more) sleep.....

    Dear T Noden,

    Happy New Year!

Good to see you're going to take a more active interest in this site. I think I've put more words on this site than you so far!

By the sounds of Iff's posts you both seem to have had a good Xmas. The only thing is - who bought you a travel rucksack? Don't they know that means you're going to have to carry stuff now! (Your plan is foiled) I bet it was Iff wasn't it ;)

  • Hello to the other T Noden! I not only got a new cool backpack, I also got the coolest walking shoes. I'm ready to scale mountains, etc. For now, though, time for a wee shleepie...

    Chill out,
    Trace

  • Oh to be unemployed! While you're having your "schleepies" bare in mind others are less fortunate - I start back at work, sitting behind a stupid desk staring at a dunmb computer screen - writing the occasional email ;) - on Wednesday (Boooooo). One day Trace you'll be back working, paying taxes, paying a mortgage, grumbling about measly salaries and chatting about the miserable weather.......ready to come back yet!

You've walking shoes to climb mountains eh? How are the mountains in Seattle? Time to head to the rockies, the andes or some volcanic pacific island methinks.

If you go to the pacific island watch out for the natives with tatoos, bones through their noses and bracelets made of teeth. They friendly and like white people....mmm...good in stew with rice. Them natives more dangerous than commies. Maybe even more dangerous than hippies. Maybe I'm being a bit stereotypical - everybody knows those "peace loving" hippies are the most feared force to be reckoned with on the planet. They can make even the most mentally sound human on earth want to embrace facism and vote Bush - that's scary.

  • Hippies are unlikely to make anyone vote Bush... But otherwise your logic is sound.

Hey Tamble - would you like a job in the White House? We've got an opening for a speechwriter.

By Anonymous Anonymous, At 8:55 pm

  • MENTAL. Seek help.

By Blogger Trace, At 12:55 pm

  • Thanks for the potential job offer Karl, I wouldn't mind working in the whitehouse but it might blow my cover - I've infiltrated the Kremlin at present - in project "know your enemy" - and the commies might get suspicious if I was a regular at the whitehouse and didn't return with state secrets.

Trace - I sought help: no one listened. I listened: no one sought help.

MENTAL? If by mental you mean spending time thinking what it'd be like to be a penguin, wondering if there is a formula for soil and questioning why humans haven't evolved to have wings or fins or both - then yes I am mental.....I'm taking a bucket of fish heads up to the loft - it'll be a while before I post a comment again.

    Over and oink.

  • I don't think it would be good to be a penguin, haven't you seen March of the Penguins?

And I thought Cambridge was cold...

    (And it is)

By Blogger Lib, At 6:33 am

  • Seattle is quite cold.

I don't fancy the life of a penguin, however.

Soil has no standard chemical formula - given that all soil is different - but I suspect that carbon, oxygen, nitrogen all play a part... Try here for more info.

Humans have not evolved fins or whatever for vaious reasons - the main reason being that we haven't been around long enough. The evolutionary timescale is measured in (at least) hundreds (possibly thousands) millions of years. Also we have no need of fins as we spend most of our time out of water and no need of a tail (cool though it would be).

Although if you are Christian fundamentalist, that's all a load of phooey and we were just created that way, all of the dinosaur bones were planted to test our faith or something and the earth is only 8000 years old. Hmmm.

You can come down from the loft now Tamble.

  • Speaking from experience - the penguin life is appealing - you guys are just too stupid to recognise it's appeal. Sure fish gets a bit boring every day but the plus points are as follows:-

    1) Does a penguin work?
    2) That is all.

By Anonymous Anonymous, At 5:41 am

  • Hmmm...

A penguin is a whole lot more likely to get eaten by a leopard seal.
