Kangaroo Island (KI)

Evening all.

Last you heard we were in Adelaide. Since then we have been to KI and back. We left on Friday and spent the night - we only arrived back this (Sat) evening. In that time we have added a few species to our "seen in the wild" list: KI kangaroo, huntsman spider (big, but not dangerous), tiger snake (one of the nasty ones - 3rd most venomous in the world) and echidna. We also saw a whole load of birds - but they are really boring and noone cares about them.

While on KI we went sandboarding - which was cool - strolled around seal colonies, checked out ancient rock formations and slept under the stars in a pukka Australian swag! We met a whole load of cool people and had a great time.

So here are some piccies - enjoy!

This is an echidna which appeared near our hostel. Also the inside of our hostel.

Here are two views of Remarkable Rocks - a rock formation older than Uluru - and quite remarkable!

Here's Admiral's Arch and Tracy with Annamarie (from Holland) at Remarkable Rocks.

This is our tour guide Will cutting up chocolate bars with a knife and fork. Also some birds - yawn!

Here's some more birds that noone cares about:

  • I think there were some common crows in there too.

I heard some distinct Caaaaw noises!

  • I can dig the tiger snake, echidna, and chocolate-cutting tour guide, but I don't dig spiders. Daylight's come. I'm going home to tally me bananas.
